COUNTSCENE GUIDES · PAGE STUDIO

Make a whole world
around your moment.

Bring countdowns, stories, media and playful surprises together. Every page starts private. Every widget has a place.

Your first countdown page

  1. Open Countdown pages in the studio. Choose The launch room, The celebration, The watch party or a blank page.
  2. Add your widgets. For a Countdown or Time capsule, select a countdown you have already saved, or create one from the widget’s settings.
  3. Use the Edit badge to select a widget. Set its width in columns, height and surface. The arrow controls in the outline change its position and reading order.
  4. In Page, choose an atmosphere, font, accent and one to three desktop columns. Check the mobile preview; narrow pages stack in reading order.
  5. Save the draft. In Share, choose your audience and use Save & publish. Public and unlisted pages require every linked countdown to be published as public or unlisted.

One timer, many places

Pages reference your existing countdowns. Editing a timer changes it everywhere it is used, including its original shared link. Each timer keeps its own fonts, background, animations, audio and editable elements. The page controls its container width and minimum height. On multi-widget pages, automatic redirects become links so one timer cannot unexpectedly replace the whole page.

A private or deleted countdown becomes unavailable to outside viewers even if a page still references it. A page cannot grant access to another creator’s private countdown or uploaded files.

A sealed surprise, with a real deadline

A Time capsule reveals a message when its linked one-time countdown finishes. The server withholds that message before the deadline. Live pages refresh every 30 seconds while visible and when a displayed timer finishes; a reveal may appear on the next refresh. Recurring and automatically restarting timers cannot unlock a time capsule. The editor keeps the capsule sealed for preview, even if its deadline has passed.

Page JSON exports and your own version history include the message. If something must remain secret, do not place it in another text, code or media widget that visitors can already view.

Play while you wait

The Memory game offers six pairs in Cosmic, Garden or Party styles. Guests can shuffle and restart. Scores and progress exist only in the current tab; there is no shared score, prize, payment or multiplayer session.

Media and external platforms

Images and short videos use your existing media library. Images expand on click. Videos use player controls and do not autoplay. The upload guidance includes formats, dimensions, duration and file-size limits. YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch and Spotify players load only when a visitor chooses to load them. A provider can block an embed, restrict playback or require its own login.

Use a Call to action widget for other HTTPS destinations. Arbitrary third-party iframe code, custom game servers and unrestricted external widget URLs are not supported in this release. New providers should be added to the supported provider list with their own validation.

Advanced HTML and CSS: freedom inside a boundary

The Custom HTML / CSS widget is an isolated presentation canvas. It cannot run JavaScript, read account data, access the database, submit forms, load outside resources or change the surrounding page. The frame does not receive authentication tokens or app state. Use class selectors, gradients, shadows, typography, hover styles and details/summary disclosure panels.

Supported tags: div, span, p, h1–h4, strong, em, b, i, small, br, hr, ul, ol, li, section, article, header, footer, details, summary, code and pre. Attributes are limited to quoted class, title and aria-label. Close tags in order. Each HTML and CSS field allows up to 6,000 characters, with no more than 20 nested elements. CSS cannot contain external URLs, imports, font imports or escaped code. Motion honors reduced-motion preferences.

<div class="ticket">
  <small>YOU’RE INVITED</small>
  <h2>Meet me at midnight.</h2>
  <details>
    <summary>Open the invitation</summary>
    <p>Bring your curiosity. We’ll bring the stars.</p>
  </details>
</div>
.ticket {
  padding: 28px;
  border: 1px solid #d9b6ff;
  border-radius: 20px;
  background: linear-gradient(135deg, #43234f, #171126);
  box-shadow: 0 18px 40px #0006;
}
summary { cursor: pointer; color: #dfc4ff; }
.ticket:hover { border-color: #fff0ce; }

These restrictions use a small validated HTML language, a sandboxed frame and Content Security Policy. The browser’s isolation behavior is documented in MDN’s srcdoc guide and Content Security Policy reference.

Interactive SDK widgets

Widget Lab provides a JavaScript coding workspace, a CountScene Widget SDK and four editable game/data starters. Add an SDK widget here, load a saved project, and select the countdown and data it may read. The page keeps a copy of that version. Visitors choose Start experience; code runs in a separate worker inside an isolated frame and cannot access accounts or change the app.

A page supports up to six SDK widgets within its overall limits. Data sources are private by default and must allow sharing before use on a shared page. Existing HTML/CSS widgets stay presentation-only. SDK code and dynamic feeds do not run in offline visual HTML.

Your widget collection and revision history

Select a widget and choose its save icon to add a private reusable design to your collection. Adding a saved design makes an independent copy. A linked timer still points to the original countdown. Removing a saved design does not remove copies already placed on pages.

The editor keeps a recovery copy of unsaved work on the current device when storage is available. Save to store it in your account. The history button offers up to 20 earlier saved designs. Restore one into the editor, review it and save to apply. History does not restore linked countdowns or deleted media. Conflicting saves from different tabs are rejected instead of overwriting each other.

Sharing, analytics and exports

Public and unlisted pages have share links and whole-page iframe code. “Public” means the page is ready for its permitted audience; it does not automatically list it in the marketplace or open the whole business Site. The Site’s overall access gate still applies. Embed height is set in the destination page; content can scroll within it.

Page analytics show all-time page loads and 30-day direct/embed totals. Owner previews and background refreshes are excluded. These are page loads, not unique people, and do not track gameplay. Countdown analytics remain attached to the countdown’s own direct and embedded viewers; timers displayed inside a multi-widget page are covered by page analytics.

Export page JSON to keep its layout, custom code and references. It includes capsule messages, but does not bundle timers, media or fonts. Imports create a draft and require you to own the referenced records. For complete countdown settings, save the page and use Export → Editable page bundle. This creates new private countdowns on import and keeps your owned media references. Export → Offline visual page creates a single playable HTML document with supported images, fonts, stories, agendas, games, capsules and HTML/CSS widgets. It omits audio, video, PDFs, SDK code widgets, dynamic feeds and online services; secrets are inspectable and deadlines use the device clock.

Reuse, sell and reimagine a whole page

The duplicate icon creates an independent page and countdowns. Set a new first deadline to shift every timer together while preserving their spacing. Design help offers built-in style suggestions and, when connected, AI page composition. Suggestions go into a preview first; Apply and Save remain your choices.

Marketplace → Whole-page designs contains community page templates, your page storefront and your acquired collection. Each submitted design is reviewed before it appears. Buyers receive their own media copies and can create independent pages. Paid designs require activated payments and seller onboarding.
